Celebrating Men for Women: WOWMEN Awards Night was an event organised by CEQUIN to recognise the contributions of men from different walks of life, who have done stellar work towards furthering the cause of women’s rights. The awardees selected were all important stakeholders in women’s empowerment ranging from activists and celebrities. Namely, Franz Gastler, Onler Kom, Rahul Bose, Rishi Kant , Subhash Mendhapurkar and Ziauddin Yousafzai. The objectives of this event was three-fold: to institutionalize the unique WOWMEN awards by encouraging men to champion the cause of women, with a long term goal of improved gender relations and women’s empowerment; to create awareness about CEQUINs mission and initiatives- what we have achieved and are hoping to achieve in the future and to highlight the involvement and encourage the support of corporate and individual participants- to help generate funds for our important upcoming initiatives.
