Mardon Wali Baat
2012-2014

With the success of our campaigns on masculinity with cricketers Virendar Sehwag and the Delhi Daredevils, we extended the campaign to include local boys, part of CEQUIN’s Mardon Wali Baat programme, to be showcased as role models – Agents of Change. As our work with men and boys developed across states, peer role modeling and building leadership clubs where young men as ‘Agents of Change’ took on critical issues related to gender based violence, and led local level campaigns to amplify women and girls’ rights, highlighting the role of men and their social responsibility – became part of our core programming. The aim was to sensitise communities, especially men and boys, on issues pertaining to women and girls such as ending domestic violence, eve teasing, early marriage, promoting gender equality and sharing the domestic workload.
